HERMES BIRKIN

Hellloooo Lover…..

Would I be completely vain if I said I was saving up for a hand bag? Well…. I am  I’m saving up for my very own Hermes Birkin Hand Bag.  Prices for these bags range from $10K-$100K and some even more expensive than that and they don’t list them because only a small handful of people in the world can afford a bag over $100K.  People like the Queen and Bill Gates’ wife.  Not little bloggers like me.  I have my eyes set on the bag above.  There is a $5000 cost to be put on the waiting list which is then deducted from your total cost once your bag becomes available.  I have not been put on the waiting list as of yet.

I think Birkin was made for the hand bag whore.  Because, frankly, who in their right mind spends this much money on a hand bag?  I work with a girl who is originally from London.  She owns a Birkin priced at $35,000.  It’s beautiful.  She saved for her bag as well.  She told me that before her mother passed away she gave her all of her hand bags and told her that they were a great investment.  I’d have to agree.  At some point when I have a daughter and she has a daughter and her daughter has a daughter.  My hand bag will have been passed down and become a antique of sorts.  Can you imagine how much an antique Birkin would cost!  So its actually a great investment.

I don’t think my significant other will go for it, however, I’ve been known to convince him of certain things.  Here are some other Birkin’s I’m interested in.  Hopefully if I become a billionaire I can afford to add all of them to my collections.

Have You Looked in Your Purse Lately?

The Dark Basement, the Dungeon, the Black Hole…have you given your purse a name yet?  I have a hand bag fetish (as well as a shoe, shopping and clothing fetish, but that’s besides the point) over the years I have grown to love REALLY BIG HANDBAGS and one of the perks or evils of carrying a big hand bag is the fact that the majority of your belongings go in and very rarely easily come out.  I put lip balm in my over-sized “Jessica Simpsonish” Louis Vuitton hand bag and ten minutes later went to retrieve it and couldn’t find it.  It literally disappeared to the naked eye.  I had to dump all of my belongings onto the bed just to find a little .15 oz  tube of lip balm.

This is my “WORK” hand bag…..

I requested, and my mother purchased me a lovely mid-sized Dolce & Gabbana hand bag for Christmas.  I’ve been trying my best to separate my “work” hand bag from my “out on the town” hand bag and my “everyday hanging out with girlfriends” hand bag.  The above picture is my work hand bag and even as I was taking the picture I was disgusted with the lack of important items not making an appearance.  I live in Philadelphia and walk to work which means I have to travel light, so I can’t take the entire box of Wet Ones that I would normally take with me if I had one of my bigger hand bags.  Instead I have essentials, my must haves…Keys, lotion, hand sanitizer, mirror, lip gloss, wallet, advil, feminine clutch and diet pills (oh! and a cell phone but I was using that to take the picture :-).  What I don’t have is make-up, gum, breath mints, umbrella, book, ipod, wet ones, sunglasses, pen, brush, hair spray, deodorant, camera, change of jewelry, make-up wipes,…etc.  you get where I’m going.

Here are the top ten Must Have Items women carry in their hand bags…according to an anonymous online survey:

  1. Cell Phone
  2. Make-Up
  3. Feminine clutch
  4. Keys
  5. Mirror
  6. Music (iPod, MP3 Player etc)
  7. Lotion/hand sanitizer
  8. Wallet
  9. Gum/candy
  10. Sunglasses

Where do you fall on the top ten?

Ladies, Ladies, Ladies!

0302_luxe_link.jpg

So your going out on a date with a great new guy.  You pick the perfect shoes, outfit, make-up and hand bag.  He picks you up for dinner and you arrive at the restaurant and you’re left with wondering where you’re going to stash your new $100+ hand bag.  Most women opt for the cluttered approach and place the hand bag in the seat next to us which makes for a very uncomfortable evening or we place the hand bag on the back of our chairs and for women who carry big bulky bags like me know that most of the chairs offered in restaurants aren’t sturdy enough to handle the hand bag weight.  Now, thanks to LuxeLink.com we never have to worry about where to put our hand bags when we’re out for dinner.

Yes ladies for a cool $45 you too can own a luxe link hand bag holder and join the elite of hand bag whores like Lindsay Lohan, Tori Spelling and myself.  $45 might seem a little steep for a magnet the size of a silver dollar but its much cheaper than the price of cleaning if your one of the women I’ve seen who has opted to place her hand bag on the floor during dinner that is an absolute No! No! especially if you’ve paid anything over $50 for your bag.

The new infectious product called Luxe Link is small enough to fit in the zipper part of your purse (that no one ever uses) Weighs slightly less than your cell phone, and is so easy to use my 7 year old nephew can figure it out.  If you’re a purse whore and you do not have a Luxe Link you’re doing a huge amount of grave danger to your hand bag collection and evenutually your wallet.  Even if you don’t plan to buy a Luxe Link head over to their website at www.luxelink.com to check out what other products they have to offer.  You won’t be disappointed and your hand bag will thank you.
